Welcome to the Bertha Bowie Spiritual Art Gallery
Bertha Bowie was Michelle Boughen’s Grandmother who taught and guided Michelle into the Spiritual Sciences of Philosophy.
Bertha Bowie was a TRANCE ARTIST. Bertha often would say: ‘I can’t draw for tuppence!”, and yet as a Trance Artist, Bertha would bring together her 7 Pastel Chalk Pencils and blend colours to impregnant the ‘paper’ not ‘canvas’, just plain paper, to bring Spiritual Life Forms to Earth.
As a Trance Artist, Bertha drew with HER EYES TOTALLY CLOSED. Each Drawing you will see displayed here within the Bertha Bowie Art Gallery, was drawn with eyes closed. Bertha never looked at her page with naked eyes or chose her pastel pencils via eyesight, it was all done with closed eyes.
In the early days, Bertha often commented that she only had 7 colours to ever choose from, yet with White Light overshadowing the art paper, her hands would rub and rub and blend colours from her 7 pastel pencils to create an array of Light & Shade to portray the Spiritual Life Form her Spiritual Artist Guide wanted to show the world. Bertha commented often that if tried to open her eyes, they would be blinded by a Light Force that was so brilliant, she would have to close her eyes again to continue.
Bertha began Spiritual Art in 1959 and continued ‘Drawing’ until the late 1980’s. Bertha was asked around the world to speak on her Artwork and she would Channel each meaning of each Drawing she exhibited through the various platforms of Spiritualism her peers asked her to visit.
The reason Bertha always called her Art ‘DRAWINGS’ was because Spirit would ‘draw’ her to her tiny corner of her home, and ‘Draw the Colours together from the Spiritual Atmospheric Essence of the Spiritual Realm into the combination Essence to accumulate the finished product of her ‘DRAWING’. IT WAS ‘DRAWN’ FROM THE SPIRIT REALM DOWN TO EARTH.
Preparation For Meditation

This is a Drawing of the physical human sitting in preparation for Meditation or to Commune with Spirit. Notice the Crown of the Head starting to show the beautiful array of Pinks and Magentas that open the Crown in the Holy Vibration of Spiritual Connection. The Blues of Healing then begin to align, and the Golden Lights of Spirit begin to come down from the Blessed Realms to connect with the Meditative Person.

It is the True Light Combination of the Male & Female Sides of the Physical & Spiritual Body in combination of Balance, and also about the True Light Combination of Balance in Human Partnership. This Drawing shows the Masculine Side holding onto the Feminine Side, and the Feminine Side holding onto the Masculine Side in respect of one another. (This can be through relationship with your partner, or relationship with yourself within both sides of your body, the male side being the right-hand side, and the female side being the left-hand side.) Notice, the Higher Colours extending from the Feminine Side Crown Chakra like a ‘hat’. The Four Archangels

Angels do not have ‘Wings’. Yet, they are often ‘drawn’ with ‘Wings’. These ‘Wings’ are the Ethereal Colours of Essence that sweep outwardly around them when they enter the Earth Realm and are ‘seen’ by the Third Eye. In this Drawing, Bertha has depicted the flow of Colours that the Four Great Archangels sweep through their ‘flight through atmosphere’.
The Greater One in the Centre is Raphael, Angelic Being of Healing who has in his safe keeping all the Celestial Remedies and types of Medical Remedies used on Earth. Known as ‘The Healers Archangel’. Pray to Raphael, ‘The Angel of Peace’ to help the Healing of Wounds of Soul & Human Hurt.
The Small Blue One is Ophiel. This Archangel is noted in Blue colours for the Communication Skills Ophiel brings to the Arts, Spiritual Arts & Sciences and works with Mercury. Through Truth Ophiel can command the ‘Thousands of Legions of Angels’ to help with the Healing of the peoples of Earth and bring about a balance in the Justice of Life. Pray to Ophiel to help with the Earth Justice System.
San Miguel is the lower right hand Angelic colour of Blues & Golds. San Miguel is also known as St Michael and is The Prince of the Heavenly Host of Angels. This Colour alignment of sweeping Blues & Golds depicts His Heavenly Vibration that sweeps the Planet whenever one prays that Earth be filled with the Holiness of Healing and the Richness of Golden Truth.
The last Angel in this Drawing is comprised of the sweeping colours of Magentas, Golds, Greens & Blues, and is also known as ‘Archangel Oto’. This Archangel is one who brings alignment into the Planetary Systems of the Milky Way in which Earth is situated.
This Great Four Archangels work constantly together as well as with other Angels and Celestial Beings in keeping our Solar System vibrating within the Music of the Spheres in Tone, Order, Format, Formulas of Sound Waves and other Spiritual Scientific Vibrations that often Earth Man has no recognition of due to Earth Man not vibrating at the Cosmic Sonic Vibrations of the Higher Creative Sources.

In answer to these questions, we must look within ourselves. We must find our answers to apply them to open our lives. To ‘Climb the Mountain’ (LIFE) can sometimes be hard. We can take ‘short-cuts’, we can go round & round in circles repeating patterns, or we can ‘listen’ to our ‘inner voice’ and go through the challenges to find the way to reach the ‘Top of the Mountain’, the ‘Top’ being our SOUL CONNECTION TO THE UNIVERSAL SUN WHERE NO FEAR SUBSIDES…
This Drawing shows us how to walk the Path of Trust in facing life’s challenges, lessons, etc, until we find the Serpent of Wisdom, we all have living within us.

The Throat Chakra

Such an interesting Drawing depicting the Throat Chakra. You can see by this Drawing the Golden Colours of the Throat open and are not afraid of speaking the Truth. With the Purples around the top of the neckline, this radiates Intuitive Confidence with clear Blues surrounding the base of the Throat stating the Confidence of Speech is Open and Clear.
Some of us have not reached this Confidence level at all, no matter how much we try to aim towards this type of Speech Confidence. It is because the Human Lessons can place a blockage of Confidence around the Throat, thus often ‘sore throats or laryngitis’ will be a part of a person’s problems, from, swallowing words they may want to speak, but feel they cannot.
The Soul operates the ‘True Life Force’ of the person’s Mission in Life, therefore a clear Throat Chakra needs to be identified to speak clearly to oneself or to others about tapping into the reasons of change, or movement of one’s life from one path to another.
As we go down through this Drawing we will see many aspects of flowers, vibrations and various colours through the upper chest, this area is the ‘Blossoming of the Heart Chakra’, the True Identity of the Soul within the person’s life force.
However, as we go down further again, towards the lower level, we come to much Darker & Deeper Colours, the Colours of the ‘Human Digesting Thought & Feeling into Truth’. These colours are not blending as smoothly as the upper colours, because once the Human Mind or Ego takes over, the Human tends to weigh up these emotions & thoughts in a repeated pattern that can cause doubts within self and doubts about what to say to oneself or others about a particular situation. This over time will cause much stress to digestive organs, bladder and bowel, panaceas, and other various lessor organs in the physical body. Illness comes from one not listening to the inner truth they carry that can answer their Life Lessons correctly & confidentially.
What’s also interesting, is that the Shoulders carry deeper and less blended colours, depicting the ‘weight’ one carries when uncertain of ‘what to say’. The shoulder area is known as the area of the physical body where tension can live thus straining the upper back area, which surrounds the back of the Throat Chakra, thus eventually brining about neck strain, locked jaw, upper arm strain and so forth.
Notice the two Serpents, that move upwards towards the shoulder area…? Though these two Serpents carry Wisdom, the choice we face internally is: ‘Do we speak with the Wisdom we know, or do we say what someone wants to hear instead, so we do not ‘hurt their feelings’?’

I personally love this Drawn as it shows the true element of the Human Digestive System not willing to listen to Feelings within.
This Drawing relates to Drawing 8, as it is the extension of the Digestive System in its fuller capacity.
As you can see, this Drawing is not blended the same way as the others. Bertha has used UNBLENDED CRAYON to show the difference of ‘Human Harshness’ vs ‘Spiritual Light’.
The Solar Plexus is the Digestive System of all the Souls operative sections of the Subconscious: please remember that the entire Physical Body including the surrounding Aura is known as the SUBCONSCIOUS BODY, AND FEARS CAN HIDE ANYWHERE WITHIN THE CELLULAR STRUCTURE OF THIS FULL COMPREHENSIVE COSMIC PHYSICAL & AURIC UNIVERSE.
The ’belly’ can rumble and rumble with confusion, anger, hatred, extremism on any level and cause great strain on the physical body, bladder, bowel, groin, and other lesser parts of the body. The ‘negative’ thought processes of ‘mixed-up rage’ will not blend easily throughout your body and will send messages outwardly that can be felt by others through their sensitivity. Yes, all people carry ‘sensitivity’, no one misses out on sensitivity, however, it is up to the person to open and use sensitivity to hear their Inner Voice and forgive others, and their lessons in life, or block ‘everything and everyone’ around them because they are ‘too frightened’ to share the Truth in case they are ‘hurt again,’ and thus hide their ‘rage’ within.

The Peacock

As a child I was fascinated by this Drawn, I would sing to this Drawing. I thought the Peacock was the most fascinating bird upon this Earth.
My Grandmother would listen to me singing in her ‘Special Room’ as she called it, knowing that her Drawings were alive with Spiritual Energy responding to my 8-year-old songs!
However, this Drawing has two meanings to it, as it speaks of the ‘Vanity of Man’, and yet speaks about the ‘Depth of the Soul’.
Let’s investigate the Drawing and look at the way the ‘Vanity of Man’ is portrayed.
The ‘Vanity of Man’ speaks about the human, male and female. It relates to the shape and form of the Ego. The ‘allurance’ of ‘desire’, a very important part of ‘temptation’.
We in the Realms of Spirit, look down upon ‘man’ and can see via the Colours Emanating through the Aura, the allurance of desire that can take you through the cycles of complexity and challenge. Thus, the peacock with its ‘tail of beauty’ is symbolic of ‘temptation’ or ‘human desire’, it is the ‘decision’ of Ego ‘urging the human’ to follow desire, rather than take time to see the ‘what else’ is in stall for ‘them’ when making ‘decisions. (Male Energy is Decision Making Energy and can be impulsively made sometimes due to the allurance that may be offered, such as: money, over-indulgence, capitalism, grandeur plus more.)
Thus, the male Peacock dances around the female Peacock to ‘allure’ her for the ‘mating season’. He must have the ‘best feathers, the best dance, the best puffed out chest and the best look out of all the other males surrounding her’.
Then, we look deeply into the male feathers of the Peacock and see each one has a beautiful ‘eye’ within the centre of its long feathers, and we can ‘see’ the opening of the ‘Third Eye’, the ‘Third Eye’ of ‘WISDOM’.
Each colour surrounding the Eye of the Feathered Peacock, is detailed in colours pertaining to the depth of Wisdom needed in making decisions, thus it should connect to the Throat Chakra – Drawing 10 – to find the Truth in Self communication of whether that ‘grandeur’ suits the journey that your Destiny requires. Perhaps ‘grandeur’ is not always required to bring happiness…
Thus, the meaning behind this Drawing speaks of: LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP!

The ‘Vanity of Man’ speaks about the human, male and female. It relates to the shape and form of the Ego. The ‘allurance’ of ‘desire’, a very important part of ‘temptation’.
We in the Realms of Spirit, look down upon ‘man’ and can see via the Colours Emanating through the Aura, the allurance of desire that can take you through the cycles of complexity and challenge. Thus, the peacock with its ‘tail of beauty’ is symbolic of ‘temptation’ or ‘human desire’, it is the ‘decision’ of Ego ‘urging the human’ to follow desire, rather than take time to see the ‘what else’ is in stall for ‘them’ when making ‘decisions. (Male Energy is Decision Making Energy and can be impulsively made sometimes due to the allurance that may be offered, such as: money, over-indulgence, capitalism, grandeur plus more.)
Thus, the male Peacock dances around the female Peacock to ‘allure’ her for the ‘mating season’. He must have the ‘best feathers, the best dance, the best puffed out chest and the best look out of all the other males surrounding her’.
Then, we look deeply into the male feathers of the Peacock and see each one has a beautiful ‘eye’ within the centre of its long feathers, and we can ‘see’ the opening of the ‘Third Eye’, the ‘Third Eye’ of ‘WISDOM’.
Each colour surrounding the Eye of the Feathered Peacock, is detailed in colours pertaining to the depth of Wisdom needed in making decisions, thus it should connect to the Throat Chakra – Drawing 10 – to find the Truth in Self communication of whether that ‘grandeur’ suits the journey that your Destiny requires. Perhaps ‘grandeur’ is not always required to bring happiness…

This Drawing represents the Emblem of the Central Sun, surrounded by the All-Embracing Circle. The Central Sun represents the true Christ consciousness. Our Sun lights up the Earth, but the Central Sun lights up all the Universe, and in the Centre is God’s Consciousness where Creation Unfolds.
The Central Sun is the Source of ALL CREATION. It is said that this is the Energy where all Creative Consciousness abides. We are all connected to this Consciousness, and whilst on Earth, travelling our Lessons of Life, we are never disconnected at all. The connection resides within our SOUL CORE VIBRATION. This is the reason why we must continually strive to open our connection to ourselves and investigate this deeper part of our inner Soul. I you feel disconnected, then you have lost touch with your Soul momentarily.

In this Drawing, Bertha has captured the ever-changing Essence of Colour and Vibration. Bertha explains it this way: “…Every word one speaks has a Colour and Vibration.
In the Higher Planes the Colours are magnificent, and this Drawing shows the magnificence of the Beauty of the 7th Sphere – a Highly Vibrational Astral Sphere. But imagine if we looked at the lower vibration of the Human Sphere, where words are spoken harshly, it would show a completely different atmospheric Vibration. The Human Vibration would be harsh in colour and density. In this Drawing we see the 7th Sphere of the Astral, not even the Spiritual Sphere, but the Astral Sphere that reigns closer to the Earth Vibration. Each Sphere is built in the Vibration of 7. We have 7 Colours of the Rainbow, 7 Grades to each Colour, 7 Grades to each Grade, 7 Planes to each Plane and each Plane has 7 Grades within the Creation of the Plane or Sphere. Bertha always explained she as a person could not draw, however, when in Trance would follow her Spiritual Guide Flow with Colour, Shape and Tone her ‘Chalks’ into Shape & Form. This Drawing was channelled by an Artist through Bertha who once lived in Chaldea. As Bertha drew her Drawing, she received information that this Artist was a Papyrus Painter and chiselled Rock Formations as Carvings during his time on Earth. He loved his work, but now that he is in Spirit, he has become a Spiritual Guide for Artists to help them define their Vibrational Art Formations.

The Vibrations Closer To Earth That Exist In The Spiritual Realm Surrounding Earth

Now we look at the difference of the Spiritual Realms to that of the closer Realms to Earth. Look at the difference in ‘coarseness’ of the Colour Blends, to the ‘smoothness’ of the Higher Realms. As we come to Earth, a ‘coarseness’ begins to happen, due to the Earth tones of speech, thought, feeling & sound. Imagine the Soul preparing to be born, getting ready during the labour time before birth. The Soul often experiences ‘fear’ just from the ‘coarseness’ it’s feeling as it’s coming nearer and nearer to being born. Thus, the Soul of the child feels its birth as it’s entering closer and closer to the last vibration of the mother’s labour. See the smaller section of this Drawing and its position of being separated from the larger portion? This is the ‘separation from Spirit the Soul often feels when it’s born’. To place the baby upon the mother is very important because now that the Soul feels separation, the mothers touch becomes the new vibration the child connects too. This Drawing is very important, because it explains the disconnection from Spirit Realms to enter the Earth Plane. In can hear you saying, “Why?”. “What’s all this in aid of?”. “Why come to Earth in the first place?”. Mmmmh! Very worthwhile questions. I too have said these very questions many times to myself. However, Bertha always told me: “Man’s journey as a Soul, not a Human Being, is a quest to reach the Highest Levels of Source Itself”. This answer I use to ponder over many times, until I surrendered to the ‘journey’ of walking the path to evolve and reaching the Higher Consciousness of Truth that would upraise my Soul’s Vibration and live in ‘tone’ with Earth, and not in ‘conflict’ with Earth. Afterall, I the Soul, chose to come here and walk the ‘path’ with all its ‘hardships’. This Drawing speaks of man’s journey through the various questions of thought and feeling in the sections of Colours that Bertha has drawn in the Earth Arc. The Arc is likened to a Boomerang, explaining that when a Soul exits the planetary life by taking its last breath, it will return to continue its quest in striving harder and higher in reaching the higher existence of its Soul Vibration in understanding the Higher Force of Unconditional Creation of all things.
